Dr. Michael Freeland grew up in a small town in Arkansas, working on his grandfather’s farm. He had many trips to the Emergency Room over the years, which sparked his interest in medicine. He attended Hendrix College in Conway, AR for his undergraduate degree and then received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas. In 2004, he began a 5-year surgical residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center and then joined the Surgical Group of Orlando. He is devoted to providing the best surgical care for his patients. He believes in treating his patients with respect, concern, and empathy, and is dedicated to providing the time necessary to educate patients about all aspects of their surgical situations and ensuring they thoroughly understand all recommendations and procedures. He enjoys the variety that a general surgical practice allows and is committed to providing a stress-free, calming, and pain-minimizing surgical experience. He treasures his time outdoors with his family riding dirt bikes, slalom skiing, surfing, snowboarding, camping and vacationing in the Rockies.
